Verruca Treatment
A verruca is a wart on the foot caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They commonly occur on the soles of the feet and toes. Verrucae can be contagious and transmitted through direct person-to-person contact.
They tend to be more common in children, teenagers, young adults and people who use communal changing rooms. Verrucae can be uncomfortable and painful especially when they develop in weight-bearing areas of the foot.
Because of the biological structure of the virus, they are often challenging to treat, and treatment options include:
- Swift Therapy—a revolutionary treatment using microwave therapy to stimulate the body’s natural immune response, effectively clearing the underlying virus. No anaesthetic or downtime is required, and the surrounding skin remains unaffected.
- Laser Therapy—a form of light therapy, which targets the destruction of the virus and the skin changes deeper into the dermal layers.
- Dry Needling
- Caustic Agents
